This large kitchen project in Reston VA included structural elements such as the 26 foot upset beam. Installation opened up a formally cramped space between the living room and kitchen. The level of detail in the kitchen is immense. The focal point is a large island with rope columns matching custom fit cabinetry. A three-dimensional arched soffit over the over is subtle next to the apron sink and window. Unique vintage style lighting over the island and recessed create unique ambiance. A cool feature in the kitchen is a hidden microwave with retractable doors that slide into the cabinet, out of sight. the cabinetry line throughout is solid maple three-quarter inch, dove-tailed, soft close inset drawers. Soft close and set doors allow cabinets on either side of the dimensional arch over the sink or the mullion and glass doors. We designed a beautiful handcrafted and functional window seat with storage beneath. The kitchen also features an appliance garage and with distressed walnut flooring throughout. The laundry room laundry room has built-in cabinetry shoe storage and lockers with with storage and hooks and a seat. These improvements were all after reinstalling all the electrical and plumbing. We put gas in, hence the range hood downdraft. My favorite part of this project was the level of collaboration between the homeowner and I. Taking all variables into account, I look forward to exceeding my next trendy Virginia client and being the best choice for general contractor.
